She has lived in many places including abroad, but prefers this Beachfront community for its small town feel and casual life style. She is very proud to call them her home. There are so many wonderful things to do here, Saturday Farmers Market, Annual Shrimp Festival, Book Festival, Ft. Clinch monthly reenactments, the Beach, Fishing both back country and offshore, or just shopping at the many shops on Centre Street. Her family was from this area as well, and her grandfather was a shrimp boat captain back in the 20’s and spent a good amount of time shrimping the “Emma B” from the mouth of Mayport to the waters off the Fernandina Beach Jetties. Robert is a resident of the Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island area and has a wealth of knowledge in the residential and commercial markets both on the Island and off the Island. He and his wife Deborah, also a Realtor, love living here in this rather quaint oceanfront community that has all the charm of a quiet sea port, but with all the modern conveniences.
The Barclay’s make an experienced team that can assist you with all of your real estate needs. Whether you are here visiting for the annual Shrimp Festival, Shopping the Centre Street Shops, visiting historic Ft. Clinch, Sport Fishing offshore or in the back country, or just relaxing on the beach getting some sun, this area has it all and now is the time to buy before prices move back upward.
In his past life he was a 30 year veteran from the Hotel Industry, where he held many Executive Finance positions with various companies from as far away as Hawaii, and as close as the Marriott at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. He has worked in the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas and in each location was instrumental in positioning the property for financial success and ultimately the sale of the property. During their time on the road, they have personally bought and sold over a dozen properties, so they consider themselves experts when it comes to preparing your home for sale or knowing what to look for from a buyers perspective. As a Team, they have been very successful as they both compliment each other, Deborah being the more verbal, artsy, outgoing partner, and Robert being the analytical guy who maintains the structure and keeps the team on task and deadline. They have been successful in selling property because Deborah has a great eye for detail, staging and presenting a home in its best light. She is also great at determining property value from her extensive experience. She is the better part of the package when they work for you, you get kind of a “buy one get one deal!” As a couple we have been married over 20 years and live here in Fernandina Beach with their two Chihuahuas, Hope and Faith. His areas of concentration are on Amelia Island and cover Ocean front to the Historic district and off Island to the Interstate.
When not selling real estate, he enjoys fishing, riding mountain bikes, and growing wildflowers. In the evenings, Robert enjoys having a nice glass of wine, and cooking. Cooking is his other passion besides real estate, as it helps to de-stress him after a long day.
